Ribbon Cutting at Lake Katherine permeable parking lot

The District is invited to a ribbon cutting event for the permeable paver commuter parking lot at the Lake Katherine Nature Center and Botanic Gardens 7402 Lake Katherine Dr., Palos Heights, on March 25 at noon.

Lake Katherine Board Chair Paul Kubik and Board of Directors and staff, including Director and Chief Naturalist Gareth Blakesley, will participate along with Palos Heights Mayor Robert Straz and other Palos Heights officials.

The District contributed $184,000 towards the $1.13 million project that included the installation of the permeable pavers and bioswales which will capture 120,000 gallons of stormwater each time it rains. https://mwrd.org/events/lake-katherine-ribbon-cutting-event
